Textile Dyeing

Korea's Largest Dyeing Facility by Taihan Textile

Textile Dyeing is a core finishing process that penetrates dye into yarn, fabric, or textiles to impart uniform color throughout the material. Unlike printing, which applies color to specific areas, dyeing saturates the entire fiber structure so the complete fabric becomes a single, consistent color.

Taihan Textile has accumulated nearly 50 years of specialized dyeing expertise since launching the Daegu Wolbae dyeing factory in 1977.

Key Benefits of Textile Dyeing

Uniform Color Throughout Fabric

Dyeing penetrates dye deep into fiber structure, resulting in identical color throughout the entire fabric. No front/back distinction, consistent cut-edge coloring with no color exposure concerns during sewing.

Superior Fastness Levels

For reactive dye cotton dyeing, dyes form covalent bonds with fiber molecules. Colors remain unfaded through dozens of wash cycles with grade 4-5 wash and rub fastness.

Extensive Color Lineup

Hundreds to thousands of colors can be applied to the same base fabric. CCM/CCK system enables precise color matching based on L*a*b* color space for accurate reproduction.

Preserved Soft Hand Feel

Since dye penetrates inside fibers, no coating layer forms on fabric surface. The natural soft hand feel of the fiber is fully preserved after dyeing.

Korea's Largest Dyeing Processing Capacity

The Taihan Textile Daegu factory maintains large-scale dyeing facilities capable of processing 30 million meters of fabric and 5,800 tons of yarn annually.

  • Pad Dyeing — Padding method for continuous mass dyeing
  • CPB (Cold Pad Batch) — Low-temp extended, optimal for reactive dyes

5-Stage Dyeing Process

Taihan Textile's dyeing guarantees the highest quality through rigorous 5-stage process management.

Stage 1: Pretreatment (Scouring & Bleaching)

Removes impurities from fabric (oils, sizing, natural pigments) and establishes uniform whiteness. Pretreatment quality is the critical process determining final dye quality.

Sub-processes: Scouring → Bleaching → Mercerizing (optional)

Stage 2: Dyeing

Dye penetrates pretreated fabric to impart color. Optimal dyeing method, temperature, time, and pH are applied based on fabric type and dye characteristics.

Supported dyes: Reactive, Disperse, Acid, Pigment

Stage 3: Washing

Thoroughly removes unreacted dyes and residual chemicals. Low Tension washer gently cleans without applying excessive tension to the fabric.

Stage 4: Fixation

Steam or heat treatment fully fixes dyes to fibers. This process completes the chemical bonding, establishing wash fastness and rub fastness.

Stage 5: Finishing

Final processing stage enhancing hand feel, appearance, and functionality of dyed fabric.

Sub-processes: Tenter → Calendar → Sanforizing → Softening

Supported Dye Types

Dye Type Suitable Fibers Characteristics
Reactive Dyes Cotton, linen, rayon Chemical bonding with fiber, Best fastness
Disperse Dyes Polyester, nylon High-temperature dyeing, synthetic fiber specific
Acid Dyes Nylon, wool, silk Suitable for protein fibers
Pigments All fibers Surface coating method, versatile
